Winter Warmers

I have been a little behind on my posting, and a few too many new items have been purchased since my last entry as well. So, let's catch up!

I have been hunting around for a new winter coat for a few weeks now, and the oversized boyfriend coat trend has really been catching my eye. After a few failed attempts with online purchases, I finally came across the perfect winter warmer! Introducing the "All Consuming Coat" by Another. This bad boy was purchased from one of my favourite local boutiques on Acland Street, Seagulls of St Kilda (They currently have a big winter sale on!! Get shopping!). It is a perfect fit for me, a little oversized so that I can easily wear a chunky knit underneath, and just the right length for a winter coat. I was hoping to find another black piece to add to my wardrobe, but absolutely fell in love with the soft pastel like pink/grey tone and works wonders with this seasons colour palettes.

Today's Outfit: Another Coat / ASOS Jeans / Jeffrey Campbell Boots / Cotton On Shirt / Sportsgirl Accessories

Other purchases I have made over the past couple of weeks have included my new Nike Air Max Thea's which I am head over heels in love with (can never have too many Nikes!), and a couple of other staple pieces including ripped jeans, fluffy crops, chunky turtle neck knits and my all time favourite staple - the white shirt. I also caught up for coffee with my friend Alice last week, she has been living in Melbourne for a while now but is sadly moving back to Europe this week, I managed to steal her incredible giant white tigers head back pack off her before she left. So incredibly lucky (and happy!).

I am hoping to hold back from buying too many new things in coming weeks (which I doubt will happen) in the hopes of saving some money up. However, I am still in need of some new heels for a big event I have coming up in mid August, so I will keep my eyes open for a new pair that won't break the bank.

Hope you are all enjoying winter as much as I am! Here's a cute picture of me indulging in some chocolate brownie ice cream with my special little man.

Happy Monday

I've been looking around for a while now for new foundations and powders to try out. I usually use MAC Studio Fix and Miniralize Skin Finish powder together, but find the foundation a little too heavy in coverage for every day use. It is something I much prefer to wear to events or when I'm going out (which isn't often). I have been playing around with a few cheaper BB creams for every day use and had mixed results. My first BB was by Garnier, I like it at the start but found it wore off very quickly which was an issue. I started using a BB by Models Prefer which a friend recommended, and I personally quite like it to use as a base to work on. My favourite little gem for every day use would probably be my Clarins HyrdaQuench Tinted Moisterizer, I use a shade slightly darker to my skin and it gives me a lovely glow which keeps my skin tone looking fairly even for most of the day.

Today, I wanted to go on the hunt for something new. I stopped by Myer on Bourke Street and ended up picking up a NARS pressed powder compact. Loving it so far, will try it out tomorrow at work and see how it stays during the day. I then popped next door to David Jones and purchased a handful of items from Natio. They have a sale on at the moment and was happy to start using an affordable reliable brand that I have had great results with in the past. I grabbed a couple of nail polishes, a magic stick, some foundation, lipsticks and brow pencils and was given a gift bag which had some nice goodies inside. Happy with my purchases today and very excited to try out some more key items from NARS in the future!

winter is here, and so am i

June is here, the beginning of the winter months. It was only a few years ago that I could not stand the cold, and a bikini and sunshine were my best friend, but I feel that with age I have grown to love the cooler months and their fashions.

This was a blog that I started up back in 2009, and now that I am in a good place in my life again I felt that it was an appropriate time to delete the old blog entries and start with something refreshing and new. So here it is, my new blog to accompany my new (or should I say improved) self.

I hope to post photos of the things that I love and find inspirational, mostly fashion and design orientated. I also hope that this will give me enough motivation to start taking photos again and writing. Let's cross our fingers for some art work as well!

So, here is to new beginnings, and the knowledge that better things are always around the corner.
